“A vigilante is just a man lost in the scramble for his own gratification. He can be destroyed, or locked up. But if you make yourself more than just a man, if you devote yourself to an ideal, and if they can’t stop you, then you become something else entirely… A legend, Mr. Wayne”
Ra’s al Ghul
Dark Knight Rises takes place after eight years from the death of Harvey Dent which Batman took the blame, turning him into a mask vigilante and Gotham City becomes a safe palce to live in, while Bruce Wayne is in hibernation and retired Batman.
In turn of events two people will pull The Batman out of his cave: Selina Kyle a.k.a. Catwoman (Anna Hathaway) a sexy burglar & Bane (Tom Hardy) an overdosed masked terrorist who planed to put Gotham in Ground Zero. With that said I’ll leave the rest of the excitement to rest the of you.
Dark Knight Rises is a dark and one hell of an emotional film, it’s like reading a Graphic Novel in steroids. Christopher Nolan took a grand scale in this last chapter of his Batman saga, from its production set, action sequence, to the incredible cast and of course a high-quality story.
The film impacts on the story of both Batman & Bruce Wayne, tortured soul of Bruce Wayne and a fallen Knight. Batman got hurt so much that it’s hard to see him as a Hero but just a Man that has his own downfall, vulnerability and anger. Even though the plot put much about the protagonist; the movie didn’t neglect to give us the chase we want from the twist and turns of the story, exciting action scenes to the heartwarming conversation of Bruce and Alfred and the chemistry of Batman & Catwoman we’ve been looking forward to.
What’s also remarkable about the film is the incredible performance of the cast, Christian Bale still gives a significant performance as the Batman & beaten Bruce Wayne, Tom Hardy did a good job portraying Bane as mercenary hulking force of nature, as well as the returning cast of: Morgan Freeman as Lucius Fox, Michael Caine as Alfred Pennyworth (you just can’t help but listen to this guy every word he says in the movie), Gary Oldman as Commissioner Jim Gordon with the new cast: Marion Cotillard as Miranda Tate new member of Wayne Enterprice, Joseph Gordon-Levitt as John Blake who played an optimistic and hotheaded cop and of course the alluring performance of Anne Hathaway as Catwoman.
Christopher Nolan (Director), Jonathan Nolan (screenplay) & David S. Goyer (story) amp the stage with Cinematic beauty, emotional ride, action thrills (that doesn’t rely on CGI) and mind-blowing conspiracy that will put you back in your comic book moments. The legacy of Dark Knight is completed in an epic conclusion with a bow. Or is it?
